A little context, I run a small home. based business where I board and take care of special needs cats. Think senior cats, cats with asthma, diabetes etc.
  • 03
All I charge is a $20 cleaning fee because if you've dealt with special needs pets you know accidents happen and it's not easy for me to clean it all by myself.
  • 04
I don't charge more because honestly I don't need the money and I get it, taking care of special needs pets is expensive enough and i want to give pet parents a break where they can get it.

This dude, let's call him Cheap Steve, reaches out to me and asks if I could take his cat in for a week as he needed to urgently travel. His cat has megacolon (chronic, long term constipation and requires atleast 3-4 medication every day)

Cool, no worries. I gave him the forms to sign and gave him the list of things he needed to drop, eg: food, medication, special blankets or litter if required and the $20 cleaning fee that needs to be paid in advance.
  • 07
He calls me back and asks me if I could buy the meds and food and keep it ready and he'll just pay me for it all when comes to drop his cat.
  • 08
Me, being the idiot I am, said sure but asked him to pay the deposit since that was standard. He tells me he'll have the money on the day and that atp he was short on funds.
  • 09
Okay, I understand, pet bills can take a toll on you. The day of the drop, this POS turns up in a BMW, he's dripping in branded clothing, NOTHING about him screams "living on a budget"

I ask him to sign the necessary forms, and reimburse me for the medicines and pay the deposit. This SKID MARK OF A DUDE tells me that he's short on cash rn and if I could "do him a solid" and be a good samaritan.

I tell him to make the payment right now or find another boarder. He freaks out on me and starts telling me how unprofessional I'm being. The Lion, the Witch and the Audacity of this B*tch truly!

At this point I've had it and I just close the door on him. He left immediately cussing me out loudly telling me how he'll destroy my career. A few minutes later I step out to see that he's just left his cat in the carrier there. Right outside my door.

Long story short, he never came back for the cat and I have another cat now lol. He blocked me from everywhere AND proceeded to drop long a negative reviews through multiple finsta accounts. Anyway, meet Django. I love him.

letmechooseanamepliz OP Honestly, in a fed up way, I'm glad. Django is a sweetheart who I don't think was even being cared for properly. I'm glad to be at Django's service now.

CoonnieDreams Come on, Steve, $20 is nothing for the work of caring for a special needs cat. Pay up..
  • 18
